Fitting of an Engine

Dummy Transport Parts - important information

It is important that before commencing installation of a replacement remanufactured or rebuilt engine, that all fitting instructions and enclosed documentation is read.

Be aware that some engines may be fitted with temporary transport items (dummy transport parts), for example sump, cam cover, etc.  These parts may need to be replaced with parts from the original engine prior to fitting.

These dummy parts are always labelled and in most instances are also painted in bright colours.
