Interesting Engine Work

At Precision Engine Services, we never know what each day will bring but even we were amazed by the story behind some recent engine work we carried out for our Western Isles customer!

Our customer had salvage rights on a Catamaran that had been washed up on his local beach in South Uist.  It transpired the $400,000 vessel had set sail from Jersey City, USA, some 3,350 miles away, nearly 3 years previously but had been abandoned in storms on her maiden voyage.  Whilst all crew members were rescued safely by the US Coastguards, the vessel was never recovered and crew members always wondered what had happened to her.

Whilst the vessel was not salvagable (little wonder!) the Catamaran held 3 engines - 2 propulsion engines and one genset.  With some machining and engine work from Precision Engine Services, our customer has managed to make these engines good and the legacy of Be Good Too lives on, albeit in a different form.
